On February 26th, we featured Kadebostany & Valeria Stoica‘s newest music video for ‘Take Me to The Moon’. Written in 3 days before the first lockdown in Switzerland, Kadebostany told us he was inspired by David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’.
This time, CVLTARTES premieres a remix for ‘Take Me to The Moon’, by the Geneva-based artist and DJ Laolu. His raw and sophisticated style has made the song beautifully smooth, which features a mission control sample, contributing to the space-themed feeling and theme of the track ‘Take Me to the Moon’. The original song is soft and emotional in nature, but the Laolu remix pumped it up to work better and match the feverish atmosphere of any club.
“When I do writing sessions, I propose instrumental compositions and sometimes vocal melodies. I play them to the person I collaborate with, and when I feel a positive reaction, we start working. The most important thing is to have fun and not to overthink. I often come up with a theme for the lyrics as well. My studio is full of sound gadgets that allow me to generate ideas and the unexpected.”Kadebostany for CVLTARTES
The gripping, retro, disco synths pop off in this remix, pulling you in with each beat. It is amazing how the song trains the listener and makes one discover a whole new composition that will take him into cosmic space. Adding his early 90s ruff techno sound to the original, Laolu allows for a broad array of sounds to come through and reinforce the track.
Laolu’s stellar remix offers up a downtempo and emotive take on the track with a chuggy rhythm meeting infectious synth lines and off-kilter percussion. Laolu provides the perfect sonic as the sun begins to rise over the party.
Meanwhile, Kadebostany will continue to feature loads of new music from the forthcoming Ep ‘DRAMA- Act 2’ to be released later this year. The album is a sequel to the much acclaimed ‘DRAMA – Act 1’, which was released in 2020.
