As diverse as the lives of the subjects he photographs, Belgian photographer Marc T has an impressive portfolio and a fascinating life story. There is a tremendous level of refinement to his personal style, ranging from striking street photography to stunning portraits and intimate editorials.

What is truly remarkable about Marc T’s work is that it unearths unspoken stories about the underbelly of human existence. Photographs of his subjects are contrasted with delicate, painting-like backgrounds, demonstrating his ability to convey emotion on a large scale. Although varied, his portfolio contains images imbued with a sense of elegance and imperfection. A more interesting aspect of the work is that the photographer’s preoccupation with natural textures creates an extremely captivating framework where form and shape interact in a dramatic manner.

Most of the time I’m triggered by something that inspires me. It can be a novel, a story, a color, artwork, a magazine, a light, or a contrast before I start a creative process. I make some scrapbooks and mood boards, then slowly I build the shot. This process can take a long time even several months before I start shooting. It happens when I’m making drawings and sketches.
