I’m sitting here speechless. I have so many emotions flooding through me right now, that I am unsure where even to begin. Velour Fog is only on their third single and is doing it again. From London’s outskirts, Velour Fog is a dynamic unit dedicated to preserving the raw energy of rock music, while retaining its essence. Inspired by legendary acts of the 80s and 90s, their musical influences include Ratt, Guns N Roses, Van Halen, Primus, Alice In Chains, and Yngwie Malmsteen.

As lead guitarist and frontman of the band, Jake also co-produced the track with legendary rock music producer Nick Tauber, who worked with bands such as Thin Lizzy and Def Leppard.

Glue‘ is a sure-fire rock radio hit featuring one of the band’s most infectious choruses and one that may go down as a live favorite. This is a great blend of their trademark sound combined with some new elements that tread lightly on the band’s roots. As well as Jake’s lightning-fast guitar work, ‘Glue‘ also features the drumming and bass playing of Moose and Naois, while rhythm guitarist Marshall adds to the mix with his trademark hypnotic stage presence.

This track got me and held me even after it was long over. Since I listened to it, I knew it was going to be on repeat for a while. It literally screams out of the speakers from the jump. Growing up with Alice in Chains, this song sure brings back some of the greatest memories.

But when you think things cannot get better, the rap rock part showcases the band’s incredible dynamic range and musical prowess. As you think that ‘Glue‘ will prove to be a typical grunge-inspired track, it takes an unexpected turn halfway through, integrating rap verses in a nu-metal fashion, culminating in an outstanding guitar solo at the conclusion.

When it comes to music, there’s really no particular recipe for success. But between the band’s visceral performance and raw passion, ‘Glue’ hits all the marks for grunge seduction, keeping us yearning for more. As the song inspires a deeper sense of connection, understanding, and grunge wonder, we are eager to hear what Velour Fog has in store for us in the future.
