Alexandru Laurus is a Romanian photographer based in Cluj-Napoca. He often convinces strangers to let him photograph them and capture their emotions and unique looks.

As he says: “I don’t know if this counts as art and I don’t want to search for definitions. Fuck definitions. Fuck perfect lines. Fuck the Fibonacci spiral. All of this just melts down on her cheeks then trickle down her chin, her neck collar bones and afterwards burst into color. There are no definitions beyond that”.

Alexandru’s portfolio mostly contains soft, warm portraits and the natural and intense light completes perfectly this dreamy atmosphere. He describes photography as a joy: “the joy of leaving all stress and worries behind for a brief moment; the joy of watching the sunset. The joy of being alive”.

It’s easy to get attached to his photos; he sure delivers a special depth of colors and stunning expressions, capturing the beauty of simple moments.
