Marcus Johnson (alias only4thebrave) is an English creative photographer and researcher whose brilliant work focuses on diversity and society’s perpetual pursuit to standardize the world as we perceive it. Moreover, his take on photography emphasizes the idea of becoming an exponent of the ordinary just for the sake of general validation.
His latest series – Covered in Plastic – is probably a good proof. Having its roots in the fashion area, the series is a sample of models “doing anything for beauty”. “My work is based on fashion and the need to fit in”, Marcus says.
Erotic asphyxiation as a way of mocking societal approval
“So many people are obsessed with the way they look, that they will do anything to fit in and look like everyone else. [That is why] I started a project where I distorted the look of the model. We can do anything for beauty”.
