Conceptual artist Ștefan Șerbănescu pressed pause on paintbrush and charcoal, replacing graphics with graphic photography.
His new, ongoing series of brilliant still life imagery mixes nudity with vegetal and animal elements, turning the restroom in an unexpected scene for a wave of stomach-twisting portraits and self-portraits. Nothing prepares the viewer for what he is going to encounter and a statement is yet to be released. However, until any of that will come true, all we can do is mechanically follow Ștefan’s parade of raw, addictive artworks and remain astounded.
Ștefan is a Romanian painter, illustrator and photographer based in Iasi.
