Dmitry Polkanov a.k.a. SHAD is a photographer, retoucher, and body paint artist and he still works as a doctor. His genre is fine art conceptual portraits. He uses the body painting technique to create images of demons. All his photographs were taken in a studio near St. Petersburg, Russia with Hasselblad and Sony cameras. 

My purpose is to show that dark aesthetics can be beautiful. The images I create don’t tell stories. They are silent. The viewer should feel them. – SHAD
