The “Predator” franchise has introduced us to a variety of human heroes over the years. However, for the upcoming “Predator” movie, director Dan Trachtenberg has a unique twist planned. In a surprising turn of events, the main character will actually become the Predator himself, donning a superhero cloak. While this may seem unusual, it’s a direction that many fans have anticipated.

Predator: Badlands” is set to release next year. Although it is not a direct follow-up to “Prey,” it is a future-oriented story that takes place on an alien planet. The creators are approaching this unique concept from a different angle in hopes of capturing the public’s attention.

After all, “the creature is front and center, leading the charge,” says Trachtenberg. “He’s still badass, but there’s something there that touches you emotionally, too. Creating a character you connect with, but are also super-intimidated by, has been challenging. But exciting.”

The idea, he says, came from a desire to “find another essential piece of cinema that does what Prey did spiritually – pushing the franchise’s boundaries, letting us root for a hero we rarely get to root for — but in a different way. And that transformed into this big idea of rooting for the Predator.” All we have to do is wait and see how this approach will be interpreted by the public.
