Marilyn Manson is pressing forward with the next installment of his latest musical era. The artist has unveiled a new single, ‘Exit Wound’, while also announcing his forthcoming studio album, “One Assassination Under God: Chapter 2”, set for release on August 14 via Nuclear Blast.
The announcement arrives less than a year after the launch of “One Assassination Under God: Chapter 1”, a record that marked Manson’s return to the studio and the stage following a lengthy absence. That album introduced a darker, more introspective direction, laying the groundwork for a broader conceptual narrative that now continues with its successor.
Serving as the first taste of the upcoming release, ‘Exit Wound’ expands upon the atmosphere established on the previous record. While Manson has yet to share a complete tracklist or delve deeply into the album’s themes, the title alone suggests that “Chapter 2” will pick up where the story left off rather than beginning a new creative cycle.

The first chapter featured tracks such as ‘As Sick As The Secrets Within’, ‘Raise The Red Flag’ and ‘Sacrilegious’, combining brooding melodies, industrial textures and personal reflections. Those songs hinted at a larger narrative framework, one that appears set to evolve further on the new album.
In recent years, Manson’s work has increasingly embraced a serialized approach, with albums functioning as interconnected pieces of a larger artistic statement rather than isolated releases. The “One Assassination Under God” project reflects that shift, presenting a continuing storyline that unfolds across multiple records.

For longtime listeners, the arrival of new material offers another glimpse into the evolution of one of rock and metal’s most polarizing and influential figures. More than three decades into his career, Manson continues to reinvent his sound while maintaining the dark theatricality that has defined his work from the beginning.
With ‘Exit Wound’ now available and “One Assassination Under God: Chapter 2” scheduled for release this August, the next chapter of Marilyn Manson’s ongoing narrative has officially begun.
