This June, the fortress city of Timișoara becomes a portal of light once again as Sunscape Festival returns with its second edition, a multi-sensory celebration of light, art, and cosmic rhythm.
At the heart of this radiant convergence stands Marc T’Syen, the acclaimed Belgian photographer making his Romanian debut. With a career rooted in the golden age of fashion and shaped by encounters with icons like Sir Cecile Beaton and Malcolm McLaren, Marc brings more than photographs, he brings lived history, wrapped in shadow and sun.
Hosted at Galeria POD, his exhibition “Where Lights Rest” opens on June 5, unveiling a poetic dialogue between solar light and urban landscape, between the timeless and the fleeting. His images are less about capturing beauty and more about revealing the places where it hides, in quiet cracks, in glowing skin, in streets that remember.
Alongside the exhibition, Marc leads a series of intimate photography workshops (June 2–4) where young artists and curious minds will explore not just how to shoot light, but how to see it, as metaphor, as teacher, as language. It’s less technique, more alchemy.
The festival unfolds in three movements: light as writing, light as rest, light as cosmic pulse. With performances, visual art, soundscapes, and a city that still hums with the charge of being Europe’s Capital of Culture, Sunscape 2025 turns Timișoara into a breathing gallery of expression and inner awakening.
