‘In Search of Tomorrow’ is a documentary film that has just entered pre-production and is somehow packed in that nostalgic retro wave style of the 80s.
The documentary follows a year-by-year timeline, where each film segment combine talent from the project and/or experts discussing aspects such as plot, the film’s emotional and cultural impact, behind-the-scenes anecdotes, toys, tie-ins and marketing, creative visions influencing contemporary tech/architecture/landscape design.
“We are making this documentary to celebrate, explore, and recontextualize these films and the influence they’ve had both on ourselves and our culture.” – source
The completed feature will be more than four hours long and feature insights and anecdotes from an extensive collection of experts and iconic talent, including filmmakers, actors, special effects and visual effects masters, tech advisors, authors, influencers, and visionaries. Not only will they tell their own stories, but they will share opinions about their own favorite Sci-Fi movies.
“We’ve already been working on In Search of Tomorrow for a year and we’ve signed up some incredible names to our cast including Sean Young (Rachael in Blade Runner, Chani in Dune), Henry Thomas (Elliott in E.T.), Sam J. Jones (Flash Gordon in Flash Gordon), and Lance Guest (Alex in The Last Starfighter) – and we’re adding more all the time. Check out the cast list below to see the 50 names already attached to the project.“ – source
