We’re happy to premiere Daisy Mortem’s latest single ‘Flash’. Daisy Mortem is a French electronic music duo known for their hybrid musical style, intense performances, and flamboyant music videos.
The band was formed in 2018 in Pessac, in the South of France. After performing in basements, squats, and alternative venues, the band was discovered by Catnapp, who released their album ‘Faits Divers‘ on her label. The album blends club sounds with experimental music, and its lyrics oscillate between horror tales, fantastical visions, and the banality of urban solitude.
After a release party in Berlin, the duo toured several European countries and opened for bands such as IC3PEAK and GFOTY (PC Music). This album was followed by ‘Fausse Nouvelle’, an album of remixes and international collaborations.
“Flash” is a pop and experimental epic that tells the story of a character searching for himself and his place in an apocalyptic world. Using a kaleidoscope of figures drawn from pop culture (the wanderer, the guru, the diva, the devil…), the album explores themes of identity and monstrosity.
The album title evokes both the flashback and the camera flash—the experience that freezes us in time, and the person we strive to become by staging ourselves. Haunted by the theme of the mirror, ‘Flash‘ questions what we truly see when we scrutinize our reflection.

Daisy Mortem is described by Fucking Young as “one of the wildest and most danceable projects to be talked about in the French underground», or by Vice as «heckling the time, taking her by the collar and Shaking it to better extract a raw essence», Daisy Mortem is a real UFO in the French-speaking landscape.
With “Flash,” Daisy Mortem pushes genre boundaries and invites listeners on an introspective journey through sound and narrative. Their unique blend of pop and experimental elements not only highlights their musical evolution but also reflects the complexities of identity in a fractured world. As they continue to carve out their space in the electronic music scene, fans eagerly anticipate how their artistry will evolve further, promising that the best is yet to come. Whether you find yourself dancing in a crowded club or lost in thought, “Flash” offers an experience that resonates long after the last note fades away.
