Dutch doom/noise trio FARER has just revealed a new video for “Moros” taken from last year’s critically acclaimed debut album “Monad”, which will now be available on vinyl for the first time courtesy of Tartarus Records.

The video was filmed and edited by Sven Jurgens, who commented “The stark black and white shades are accentuated by exaggerated fingerprints to suggest that there’s meddling in the universe, and finally, when Farer plunge into the tail-end of “Moros,” the monochrome streaks are painted red; the amoebas under the microscope come fully into focus. You could take the whole thing as the birth, balancing, and eventual destruction of the universe. Conversely, you could be an optimist and read that in order for life to exist, it must follow destruction. “

Originally released in late November 2020 on CD through Aesthetic Death and cassette via Tartarus Records, “Monad” will now be available as a limited edition clear and black marbled color double LP housed in a heavy gatefold, brilliantly showcasing Niels Verwijk’s gripping, original album artwork and is now scheduled for release on September 24th. Pre-orders are now available at this location.

Dutch doom/noise trio FARER creates an imposing discord of severe, caustic bass textures, harrowing vocals, and winding drums. The band, featuring members of Ortega, was originally founded as Menhir in 2013, but chose FARER as their new moniker in 2019, after spending two and a half years writing and recording their debut record “Monad”. By taking time to further explore the possibilities of being a band with two bass players and the absence of a guitar, the record exhibits the band’s evolution into a new entity thoroughly. Meaning, carefully crafted, drawn-out, oppressive, and compelling songs.

With their debut, FARER made a committed and captivating testament to suffering. Heavy grinding riffs and deep pulsating rhythms; a restless stirring. Amidst all these layers you can hear the voice as a primal scream – the shock of being. The dissonance of forces vying for existence and the harmony of lightless oblivion. An agonizing story of something or somebody coming in contact with the singularity “Monad” and thus creating an incomprehensible cycle of violent creation and destruction. Out of nothing, nothing becomes.
