More than three decades into their career, Cypress Hill are opening a new chapter. The pioneering hip-hop group has announced “Dios Bendiga”, their first full-length album recorded entirely in Spanish, set for release on July 24.
Rather than revisiting familiar territory, the record reflects a deeper connection to the band’s Latin heritage, bringing language, identity, and lived experience to the forefront. Frontman B-Real has described the project as a “homecoming,” an idea that runs through both its sound and its perspective.
Despite its significance, “Dios Bendiga” came together in an intense two-week recording session. Percussionist Eric Bobo served as the album’s musical director, helping shape a record that embraces Cypress Hill‘s signature style while introducing a fresh cultural dimension.
Leading the release is the single ‘Campeones’, featuring Mellow Man Ace. Built around themes of resilience, perseverance, and collective strength, the track sets the tone for an album rooted in pride rather than nostalgia. The project also includes collaborations with Latin rap heavyweights Alemán and Trueno, reinforcing its cross-generational and cross-cultural reach.
With “Dios Bendiga”, Cypress Hill place their Latin heritage at the center of the conversation. The album expands the group’s legacy through a new linguistic and cultural perspective while staying true to the sound that has defined them for decades. It stands as both a celebration of identity and a reminder that one of hip-hop’s most influential voices continues to evolve.
