“When The Flowers in Your Gardens Fade”: The Visual Diary of Ruslan D ‣ CVLTARTES

Ruslan D or Ruslan Diusiunov, on his full name, is a Russian-based photographer who loves to play, in his works, with textures, shades, but especially moods and, maybe for this reason he chose this title under which he prefers to publish his works, namely, “When The Flowers in Your Gardens Fade.” Entitling that makes me think of Jane Austen’s drama novels with radical plot twists and unexpected endings, and the way the Russian photographer presents his works seems that he is not far from this idea either.

Quite raw as final product, seemingly unworked, Ruslan’s photographs perfectly describe a series of moods marked by a frustrated society, bashful as hell and scared of an uncertain future. From black and white photos to true explosions of light and color, Ruslan’s artistic approach is not very clear and leaves the impression that his way of working is driven more by the voice of feelings than by classical techniques.

But, of course, since we are talking about nude photography, there is no shortage of daring, sensual details, full of eroticism and desire. Shadows that make you smell the perfume of the naked body or positions that awaken your imagination and melt your senses, all these are details that Ruslan pays special attention to in his photographic art.
