London-based gay / queer artist Ray Noir steps into 2026 with ‘Temptation,’ a visceral alt-metal release forged at the very beginning of his sobriety journey. Written in a moment of confrontation, between desire, self-destructive cycles, and the fragile architecture of self-control, the track channels the seductive gravity of what you know will harm you, and the brutal strength required to turn away.
Built on pounding electronic beats, soaring melodic lines and raw alt-metal intensity, ‘Temptation’ thrives on contrast: vulnerability sharpened into impact, confession transformed into force. A striking second verse performed in Norwegian introduces a deeply personal rupture in the song’s narrative, reflecting Ray’s roots and amplifying the sense of inner conflict that runs through the track.
“ ‘Temptation’ is about facing your demons when you think you’ve already escaped them. It’s the sound of being free, but still hearing the echo of what once had power over you.”

Produced by Jon Cass and co-written alongside Tom Saint and Madeleine Wood, ‘Temptation’ signals the start of a new creative chapter for Ray Noir, one marked by clarity, confrontation and unapologetic emotional exposure.
The single arrives alongside a live performance video, filmed at The Craufurd Arms in Milton Keynes and directed by Jarod Parker. Premiering on Ray Noir’s YouTube channel on January 8, the video strips the song back to its core, capturing the raw, unfiltered intensity that defines both the track and the moment it represents.
With ‘Temptation,’ Ray Noir doesn’t offer redemption fantasies, only truth, tension and the uneasy beauty of choosing yourself, again and again.
