Johnny Depp is back in trouble at sea.

The first trailer and poster for “Day Drinker” introduce Marc Webb’s new thriller, bringing Depp together with his former “Blow” co-star Penélope Cruz for a story built around a private yacht, a mysterious passenger and a bartender who finds herself caught in something far beyond her job description.

Madelyn Cline plays the bartender, whose routine takes a sharp turn after she encounters Depp’s enigmatic guest aboard the luxury vessel. What begins as an unusual encounter soon draws her into the orbit of a criminal figure played by Cruz, with the three characters becoming increasingly entangled as the story unfolds.

Written by Zach Dean, “Day Drinker” keeps its central mystery deliberately close to the characters. The yacht becomes the setting for a situation in which nobody seems to be exactly who they claim to be, while the relationship between Depp and Cline’s characters pulls the bartender further into the mess.

For Depp and Cruz, the film marks a reunion more than two decades after “Blow”, where they first appeared together. This time, their characters occupy a very different kind of criminal world, with Webb directing from Dean’s screenplay.

“Day Drinker” will arrive in UK and Ireland cinemas on March 27, 2027.
