Genre-bending weirdos Troldhaugen have today announced an international release for their most recent album “idio+syncrasies”. The circus-metal-prog-folk-rock outfit from Wollongong in Australia will celebrate the album’s release on CD and digital platforms as part of the Bird’s Robe Records 10th anniversary series.

The wacky quartet has earned a loyal cult following worldwide since the release of their stunning second record “Obzkure Anekdotez for Maniakal Massez”. This was evident with the band turning to crowd-funding platforms to raise the $10,000 needed for production – and hitting their mark in just a few days.

The band has expanded its profile through tours with Alestorm, Finntroll, Twelve Foot Ninja, Toehider, Gloryhammer as well as an exclusive barnstorming performance at Germany’s Summer Breeze Festival in 2015 in front of a packed audience of several thousand.

They have received unprecedented support from the Australian national youth radio station triple j with their track ‘Viva Loa Vegas’ being dubbed “a marvel of modern music” by Zan Rowe and “amazing, in so many ways” by triple j Music Director Nick Findlay. Dave Ruby Howe labeled the latest single ‘BMX Terminator’ as “an aborted stage musical production of The Jungle Book scored by Primus.”

Bird’s Robe Director Mike Solo comments:  Troldhaugen is one of the most fun and creative bands I’ve ever seen or heard. They continually reinvent their sound with each new release and it’s always insanely good. I hope everyone enjoys immersing themselves in each new record as it comes because you never know what’s coming next! Idio+syncrasies is a perfect example of this and it’s so damn good it deserves to be heard by a wider audience internationally before their next release.”

“Idio+syncrasies” is out September 3rd on Bird’s Robe.
