Bucharest-based photographer, Eliza Lupu is a talented visual artist whose images focus on the research of the human body and nature, but also on the interdependence between these two. Studying for the Master degree at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, Eliza’s photographs are mysterious, beautifully processed and break the ordinary nude mold in so many outstanding ways. This series is Eliza’s graduation thesis and was inspired by Hans Breder’s work, but also of Arno Rafael Minkkinen, Stefan Bertalan and Laura Aguilar.

In this project I tried to focus on the interplay between the real and the illusory world, using a rectangular mirror that I carry in all the places I experienced with my model. The transfigured and deconstructed bodies presented in my photographs create a connection between space, body and fragmentation of form, disorienting the viewers’ point of view.

Still can't tell exactly my origins because of my suspiciously ‘Chinese eyes’.
