Romania-based painter and digital illustrator Nagy Norbert takes the concept/fine art to a whole new level of awesomeness. You’ll come to realize that some of his new reinterpretations of TV shows characters and redesigns of comics superheroes/villains are better than the originals. For example, I’d definitely watch a movie with a Superman in a golden suit, even without being a fan!
The incredible talented artist casts a new dramatic combination of lights and shadows on his portaits. This way, the usual concept art poster becomes an infinite maze of hidden meanings and messages. Take a look at the symbols in the smoke, or the small reflection in the lens of Breaking Bad‘s Heisenberg.
Of course he’s not reimagining only other people’s characters. He creates his own amazing sci-fi/fantasy worlds, he combines different key-scenes from cult movies (Question: what would be if Star Wars featured The Shining? Answer: a laser sword through the door!). He reinvents minimal posters for TV series, such as Game of Thrones. He’s also giving life to a variety of characters of his own, brought to reality from his deepest nightmares. Many of them would easily become the next thing you’re gonna shoot in F.E.A.R.
My favorites? The fan art of Rustin Cohle (True Detective), which I’ve discovered long before I even knew the artist. You may say, his art precedes him.
