Sabina Costinel (Sabina Costinel Imagery) is a Romanian photographer whose works are focusing on the environmental particularities and on the beauty of the urban/natural antagonism, by releasing a free narrative story whose unique message could simply reduce to one single word: quietness. In a previous interview for Cultartes Magazine, Sabina said: “I am still trying to figure out what kind of photography suits me. I am going through a transition process really, where I am trying to decide what I like and what I don’t like. I experimented nude photography only on my own body. I began to take pictures of myself in order to discover my feminity. About the mystery keeping: if there’s no mystery, there’s no fun either!”.
In other words, the hidden message, the secrecy, is not only an important factor which boosts the artist’s inspiration, but an ingredient whose absence would annihilate her entire world. The same mysterious atmosphere floods Sabina’s new works. The forest-themed photo series is an illustration of the perfect human-nature symbiosis. The nude self-portraits taken by the photographer are a piece of heaven, while it reminds us of the pure original biblic human existence; a naked Eve walking through the Garden, in a complete sweet ignorance.
The virgin forest is the most suitable scenery for the complete naked human body. There’s nothing that could interfere between the trees and the skin. The artist succeeds to create an entire world in just a few snapshots, and the most important thing – she keeps the secrets in it!
