Murat Sayginer is an unconventional “visionary” Turkey-based artist who combines photography with digital art, filmmaking and music composition, with abstract perfectionist result. He says: “I am refractive and my art is the refraction of my life”.
Enter the absolutely gorgeous digital alternative universe of Sayginer. You can find pretty much everything in it: cyborg-Venus, sectioned statues, skeleton-angels hybrids, mechanical monsters, light-powered dancers and ancient mithology elements caught from some future land.
His latest amazing work is “Legacy”, an almost 2 minutes short-film that explores the underworld of the artist’s subconscious, bringing to light some of filmmaker’s most deep dark fears in a combo with a anti-manifesto towards the most terrible social dangers nowadays and to some over-exploited contemporary art subjects, such as: money, ‘Big Brother’, nightlife, death, art-industrialization or degradation and systematic brainwashing.
“Is this our world? Is this our Legacy?”, the artist seems to ask. What would you answer?
