Petey Ulatan has one of the best Instagram account ever; he is a creative professional based out of Honolulu, Hawai. It’s so lovely to follow him. Ulatan creates mind-bendingly manipulated landscapes that warp the perception of the world around us. Inspired by Inception or Interstellar, where the laws of physics are turned on their head, in Petey’s photographs the oceans are bent at 90 degree angles, skies are squared, skyscrapers stand on their sides.
We have the power to take the natural beauty we see around us further and create our own worlds. I find it particularly gratifying to be able to do that.
To create the effect, Ulatan drops photos he’s taken himself or grabbed from Google Images into Adobe Photoshop, then duplicates the layer and changes its orientation. He finishes each image off with filters in Adobe Lightroom to nail their dreamlike qualities. (Source)
