ManiFEST, First Romanian AntiFracking Festival, will be Woodstock-ish

ManiFEST is the first festival organized for a non-hydraulic fracturing world, and it will happen in Puiești (Vaslui, Romania) 6-8 September 2014. It is the first edition of a yearly civic event which purpose is to bring to people’s attention the fracking process and its dangerous effects, emphasizing the individual and community rights to live in a clean non-toxic environment. ManiFEST – “Cu noi nu te PUIești” will follow a full agenda of open-air concerts on the main stage or ad hoc, civic and environmental activism workshops and also a series of antifracking themed documentaries projections. The participants will have the chance to come by the special stands set up for public information and petition subcription.

Here’s a list of artists and bands who already confirmed they’ll be there to perform and support the cause: Aria Urbana, Maria Răducanu, Harry Tavitian & Mihai Iordache, Baba Dochia, El Negro, STEMA, Poetrip, Fine It’s Pink, Crowd Control, Soul Serenade, Pinholes, Taissia & Teodor Amarandei, Aud Band, Tzetze&Friends, Lish, Afty, Dj EllieN, Rotaru Gologan (BG), Darren Nesbit (UK).

Any accomodations will follow the ’70s Woodstock style! In tents, near the festival area or in the locals’ backyards (if they agree!). Bring with you flashlights (for light, doh!) and wet wipes (because there’s no shower in the middle of the field).
