Rotterdam- based artist Lana Prins has been capturing women with her camera since she was fifteen years old. We find romance and sensuality as the main focus, Lana being inspired by her friends, her sister and herself, too.
“My inspiration mainly comes from the curiosity I feel towards the sensuality and sexuality of the female body. The feelings daily life gives me, also inspire and motivate me to make new work.” (Source)
The fascination she has for women already existed before her love of photography, and it eventually seemed to turn into an obsession. Lana considers woman to have two sides. The sensual, sexy side and the timid, innocent side. As she says: “My pictures are partly a reflection of myself, but also that of every woman, because every woman is in possession of those two qualities.”
“My biggest dream is that I will always be able to stay a dreamer.”
She mostly shoots with her digital Canon (5D Mark III), but she also has lots of different analogue cameras. Her first exhibition was in France, in the summer of 2015. She was featured in i-D Magazine, Kaltblut Magazine, C-Heads Magazine and many others. When asked about future, Lana dreams about her first photography book.
